Nothing CMF Phone 1 will be a game changer but how – Review, Nothing CMF Phone 1 is finally launched in India at Rs 15999. There is a competition for cheap Android mobile phones in India, among them CMF Phone 1 made by Nothing Company is making a lot of noise.This is its full review of both pros and cons let’s start.
Nothing’s CMF Phone 1: Design
First of all, the design of this phone is really great, the hardware is customizable, yes you can change the back panel of this phone as easily as you change your phone cases and not only that, you can also attach different accessories to it like phone stand, wallet or leanyard cable.
Now changing these and attaching these accessories requires a very special skill, to replace the backpanel of the phone you open the screw at the back, remove the dial with force, pull out the same track and remove the back panel, be careful in the last step as it requires a little force, now you can simply choose the color and finish, just like that you attach it and now you have a completely different color phone, black and light green plastic finish.
The magnets are circular even the official accessories attach quite well, the back panel costs $4.99 and you get these four color options and the accessories cost $7.99 each but the accessories cost a lot, the box and design have also improved this time.
You will notice that the camera module is placed marginally on the corner, the frame is plastic, the power button is on the right, the volume rockers are on the left and there is a Type C port at the bottom, the phone is IP52 rated but you don’t get a headphone jack which could be a problem for the separate back cover, you may feel the leather software and bulky compared to other phones but the design of this phone doesn’t feel uncomfortable at all, it’s really exciting.

Talking about the display of the phone it is a very good Amoled LED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and even in harsh sunlight there will be no problem with visibility as it gets a lot of light but I liked the multimedia experience on it,
there was no problem with not having hdr or netflix but in 2024 in this budget everything seems odd due to not having speakers.
It makes a lot of noise but the placement is such that you block it while holding it so you have to be careful apart from this the in display fingerprint scanner works well it does not  have any feature like rain touch so you cannot use it with a weighted hand and it also does not have audio.
The vezels are a bit thicker than the poco x 6 and there is a metal ring around the front camera which we usually see in Samsung the display is protected by dragon trail pro.
Overall the display is very good for normal use but there is cost cutting in the speakers now when it comes to haptic they have not specified anything about which vibration motor they are using but the haptic feedback is good you get good feedback while typing.

Now let’s talk about the software development which has stood up to time, this is one of the rarest phones under 20k that doesn’t come with any blocked place or ads and doesn’t even try to cheat you.
You get all the features that you get on other nothing phones without any cut bags which is really good by the way the phone is running on nothing os 2.6 which is the best on android 14 with 2 years of software updates and 3 years of security patches + nothing is quite active in terms of updates.You get a new gaming mode which is good.

Now let’s talk about the performance and benchmarks of this phone
The phone is powered by the Dimensity 7300 with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage for the base variant before I move on to the benchmarks let me tell you that the Dimensity 7300 is not an upgrade from the Dimensity 7200
It is not infected and is a rebranded 7050 with an upgraded NPU the naming of smartphone processors is all over the place sometimes it feels like daily bread apart from that these are benchmark scores and the 22 CMF1 is slightly better than the Poco X6 story but the penetration in the storage test is not very good you get some additional gaming features like performance mod brightness lock screen recording and calls and notifications but it is not good for gaming.

Now it’s time for the camera, first of all these are the camera specs, you get a 50 megapixel Sony IMAX 882 primary sensor with depth sensor and a 16 megapixel front camera, not that it has noise cancelling support and you don’t get an ultra wide camera either, I’ll be honest.
Even before I got the camera samples and started testing the cameras I had made up my mind that this phone’s camera is going to be bad, but surprisingly the case effect of the cameras on this phone surprised me in a good way, both during the day and night, the pictures came out really good, some of it was camera work and a lot of it was post processing, but when I zoomed in I could easily see the lack of details, but for a normal user this traveler won’t make a difference.
The videos come out good with good details and the stability is also decent, 4k recording is supported in the videos.
Nothing’s CMF Phone 1: Battery
Talking about the battery of the phone the CMF phone comes with a 1 5000mAh battery with 33 watt charging support but you don’t get a charger in the box but you can get an official CMF charger for an additional Rs 800 at the time of buying this phone and it takes the phone from 20% to 100% in just an hour which is pretty fast
When it comes to battery life I was easily getting 5 to 6 hours of battery backup with moderate to heavy usage which is quite good.
The overnight battery drain was one percent with everything turned off and 7% with Wi-Fi Bluetooth and mobile data turned on, also you can set custom charging limits like in iOS 18 On the connectivity front I didn’t face any issues while taking calls or browsing the internet.
Should you buy Nothing’s CMF Phone 1
Now the big question is should you buy Nothing cmf phone 1 for Rs 16798 which includes charger.
This phone brings a lot, it has a very unique customizable design which no other phone offers, full base software experience, very good performance, great display, satisfactory battery life and decent camera, of course there is an issue with the lack of studio speakers and missing headphone jack and the accessories are also quite expensive, but apart from that the cmas phone ticks all the boxes and it is a really good option.
